Sherri Keanna Hamilton was born on September 29, 1985, in Savannah, Georgia. She was the third oldest child of the late Kirk Hamilton and Shirley Knight Hamilton.
Sherri attended school in Chatham County and was a 2003 graduate of Herschel V. Jenkins High School. After graduating, Sherri would attend Coastal Center (now Employability) in Savannah daily. Participating in field trips and class activities, Sherri was well known throughout the building.
Being known for her personality, Sherri was always vocal without ever saying a word. Called Sherri Berri by everyone, she had a special way of communicating exactly what she wanted or needed at any given time. Sherri loved to dance and would be the life of the party once the music was going.
In November 2018, Sherri would relocate to Columbus, Georgia to become roommates with her older sister. She attended the Adult Day Program at Easter Seals until her health failed in June 2025. Nicknamed Sher-Bear, she was known as the “fitness coordinator” leading daily hallway walks for staff members. Sher-Bear enjoyed shopping outings, going out to lunch and celebrating holidays with her classmates. Being a social butterfly, Sher-Bear was an honorary member of the Lady Legendz Social Club; supporting members by attending community service events, car washes and day parties.
On Thursday, January 8, 2026, at Four County Rehabilitation and Care Facility in Richland, Georgia, Sherri would peacefully slip away into eternal rest. Sherri is preceded in death by her parents, Kirk and Shirley Hamilton. Grandparents, Pecola and John Knight, Sr. Carrie Bell Hamilton and Author Holmes, Jr. Two aunts and two uncles.
