Rev. Dr. Jerry Wright, a beloved figure in the Savannah community, passed away on December 2, 2025, just two days shy of his 87th birthday. Born on December 4, 1938, in Savannah, Georgia, Rev. Wright dedicated his life to service, faith, and the betterment of those around him.
Throughout his ministry, Dr. Wright touched countless lives with his compassion and unwavering commitment to his faith. Known for his eloquent sermons and heartfelt counsel, he fostered a sense of community and belonging among his congregants. Dr. Wright will be honored with visitation services held at Oakland Missionary Baptist Church in Savannah, Georgia, on December 12, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM. Following this, a funeral service will take place the next day, December 13, 2025, at Connor's Temple Baptist Church, starting at 10:00 AM. The burial will follow at Hillcrest Abbey West in Garden City, Georgia, at 2:00 PM.
