OBITUARY
The heavens rejoiced on July 18, 2022, when God called Mary Ruth (Ruthie) Harris to rest in his bosom. Ruthie affectionately called by family and friends was born Mary Ruth Harris on December 10, 1962, to the late Joseph and Albertha Harris in Savannah, Georgia. Ruthie was the proud mother of two sons, Arthur Baker, JR, and Joseph Baker and one grandchild, Ajanae’ Baker.
Ruthie was a graduate of Jenkins High School in Savannah, Georgia. She was employed at
Byrd Cookie Company. Her favorite hobbies were shopping, sightseeing, and spending time with friends and family. Ruthie was a faithful member of Speedwell United Methodist Church where she served as a member of the Chancellor Choir.
Ruthie’s loving memories, kind heart, playful nature will forever be cherished by her son’s Arthur Baker and Joseph Baker, Granddaughter, Ajanae Baker; Brothers-Joseph B. Harris, JR (Carolyn) of Tampa, FL; Edward Harris of Savannah, GA; Sisters-LaVerne Palmer (Mohammed) of Atlanta, GA; Ethel Padgett; Nathalie Baker; Victoria Singleton (Darnell) all of Savannah, GA.
Brother in-law, Howard Padgett; Sister in-law Marie Harris. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins, church family and lifelong friends-Tina Jackson, Donald Hills, Otis Williams, Arthur Baker, SR, Charlene Durant, Chris Brown and Sammie Williams. She was proceeded in death by two brothers James A. Greene, Charles A. Greene and her special friend Ervin Cross.
