Ms. Stephanie Miller

Ms. Stephanie P. Miller, 63, peacefully transitioned from this world on July 28 th at 2:35 a.m.
near her native city of Savannah, Georgia.

The Early Days

Stephanie was born in Savannah, Georgia, on August 6 th , 1959. She was the sixth and youngest
sibling of Gilbert Miller Jr. and Bessye Mike Miller. Her early school experience was through the
Seventh Day Adventist Church, where she completed kindergarten and first grade.
Her grade school education was at Spencer Elementary. As a child of desegregation, Stephanie
was assigned to Shuman Jr. High School and then went on to Savannah High School. Stephanie
always excelled in her academic classes. She enjoyed reading and playing mentally challenging
games.

Her Collegiate Educations

Bachelor of Science and Masters of Public Administration at Savannah State University
Profession

Her career started with the Chatham County Department of Social Services, where she excelled
as a Senior Caseworker and was heavily involved in managing high-risk children. Her evaluations
helped the courts decide parental rights, child removal from the home, family reunifications,
and more.

In 1996, Stephanie moved to North Carolina with family. She continued her career in the
Protection of high-risk children before returning to Savannah.
She was preceded in death by her father, Gilbert Miller Jr., and mother, Bessye, Mike, and her
brother, Gilbert Miller III.

Left to mourn her passing: Her Siblings: brother, Alfred Kenneth Miller of Hardeeville, SC, sister,
Penelope Miller Jones, of Savannah, Ga. brother Glenn Anderson Miller of Arlington, Texas,
brother Ivan Mario (Maxine) Miller, of Richmond Hill, Ga. A host of nieces, nephews,
and friends.
