Mrs. Margaret Brown Gilliard

December 12, 1940 — April 30, 2023

Savannah, GA

Adams announces the passing of Mrs. Margaret Brown Gilliard,  82, who transitioned on Sunday, April 30, 2023 at PruittHealth.

Margaret Gilliard was born December 12, 1940 in Millen, Georgia. She was the third
eldest child of twelve children to be born to the late Charlie Brown and Ethel
Brown. She was educated in the Chatham County Public School System where she
graduated from Woodville Tompkins High School. At an early age she professed
her faith and gave her life to Christ.
She was united in holy matrimony to the late Eugene Gilliard. To this union, they
were blessed with two children: Terry Brown and Katrina Brabham. Eugene
Gilliard preceded her in death on June 21, 1993.
Margaret was a light to the world. In her early years she worked with the elderly
and also had a strong passion for caring for children. Margaret always helped
anyone she saw in need without expecting anything in return. She made sure to
make everyone that walked through her front door feel welcomed. She loved
spending time with her family and friends. She thoroughly enjoyed cooking and
staying up late talking to her sister Mary (Ide). As a result of her generous spirit
and pleasant personality, she was loved by many. Her life was as beautiful as the
flowers that she loved so well. Her influence will forever remain in the lives of all
who knew her best.

She quietly departed this life Sunday, April 30, 2023 at Pruitt Health nursing home
in Savannah, Georgia. She was preceded in death by: Essie Mae and Lessie Mae
Brown (twins/her sisters), Ruby Lee Williams (her sister), Charlie Brown Jr. (her
brother), Curtis Brown (her brother) and as mentioned above, her parents and
husband.

Her beautiful life will forever be cherished in the lives of her children: Terry
(Ursula) Brown, and Katrina (Charlie) Brabham, both of Savannah, Ga. Four
beautiful grandchildren: Sherry Brooks, Chrystal Brooks, Russell Brabham, and
Renesha Brabham. Five amazing great-grandchildren: Kamora Johnson, Zariyah
Lark, Salim Brown, Maleek Brooks, Jorie Stephans. Six loving sisters: Ollie Allen,
Ethel Sims, Mary Black, Lucille Harley, Susie Lee, Peggy Marshall. A beloved
brother-in-law: Freddie Eason. A wonderful sister-in-law: Sarah Gibson. Two special
neighbors: Velvelyn Bacon and Rochelle Wright... along with a host of devoted
nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
