Mrs. Johnnie Mae Biggins Green, age 92, affectionately known as Granny G, embarked on her eternal journey on May 17, 2025, as she peacefully transitioned at home in Savannah, Georgia, surrounded by her loving family. Born on January 10, 1933, in Meldrim, Georgia, she has left an indelible mark upon this world through her warmth and boundless generosity.
A dedicated homemaker, her career in housekeeping reflected a profound commitment to creating loving and nurturing environments. More than just a caretaker of homes, Johnnie Mae was a comforting presence and guiding light to many, embodying the nurturing spirit of a mother, grandmother, and auntie. Her Hitch Village community cherished her as family, recognizing the immense love she freely shared with everyone fortunate enough to know her. She devoted herself to raising her children and grandchildren, inspiring them to dream big and achieve what she could only imagine—high school graduates, college graduates, homeowners, and business owners. Each accomplishment of her family echoed the deep-rooted dedication she instilled in them.
Johnnie Mae, with her loving and stylish persona, blended humor with grace, welcoming all who crossed her path with open arms. Her interest in cooking and holding babies reflected her deep-seated affection for family, as she would whip up meals that made gatherings unforgettable and cradle little ones with an embrace that felt like home.
Baptized as one of Jehovah's Witnesses on January 6, 1968, she dedicated over 57 years of her life to serving Jehovah, a testament to her unwavering faith and devotion. Her spiritual strength served as an anchor for her family, guiding and nurturing them through life's journey.
In the embrace of her family, she leaves behind her cherished daughters, Stephanie (David) Culver, Marie Biggins, Donna Biggins, and Charley (Jerry) Vaughn. She is also survived by her son, Leroy Green, sisters Michelle Jones, and Cedar Boswell. The legacy of love she built continues through her 17 grandchildren and an overflowing lineage of 41 great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and spiritual brothers and sisters, all of whom carry her spirit forward.
As we gather to celebrate the life of this remarkable woman, her memory will resonate through generations, weaving the fabric of love, strength, and faith that she so beautifully embodied. A viewing will take place on May 23, 2025, from 4 PM to 6 PM at Adams Funeral Services located at 510 Stephenson Avenue, Savannah, Georgia.
