Dr. Delores Cummings

Dr. Delores Cummings, a beloved educator and cherished member of the Savannah community, passed away on July 3, 2025, at the age of 77. Born on July 30, 1947, Dr. Cummings dedicated her life to the noble profession of teaching, leaving an indelible mark on the many students who had the privilege of being in her classrooms at Sol C. Johnson High School.

With a career that spanned several decades, Dr. Cummings was not only a wealth of knowledge but also an inspiration to both her colleagues and students. Her unwavering commitment to education went beyond the curriculum; she nurtured curiosity, encouraged critical thinking, and championed the pursuit of excellence.
