Adams announces the passing of Mrs. Christine Colbert Williams, 76 who transitioned on Wednesday, April 5, 2023 at her residence.

 A Celebration of Life will be held 1:00 PM, Thursday, April 13, 2023 in The Adams Chapel.

Viewing will be held from 4 PM - 6 PM, Wednesday, April 12, 2023 at the funeral home.

Obituary

On Wednesday, April 5, 2023, Mrs. Christine Williams passed away peacefully at the age of 76 years old, surrounded by her husband Dwight and her daughter Angela.  Christine was born in Long Branch, NJ on March 12, 1947 to the late George Washington and Annie B. Colbert.  Christine attended elementary school in Long Branch, NJ where she graduated from the Long Branch High School in June, 1965.  Christine resided in Long Branch, NJ until she relocated to Savannah, GA in June, 2000.  Christine was the beloved mother of four children, whom she raised in Long Branch, NJ as well.

 

After graduating from Long Branch High School, Christine attended the Monmouth County Vocational School where she studied Nursing.  Christine graduated from Monmouth County Vocational School as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN).  While raising her children, Christine enrolled and graduated from Brookdale Community College with her Bachelors Degree in Nursing, becoming a Registered Nurse (RN).

 

Christine enjoyed her employment as a Nurse at Monmouth Medical Center in Long Branch, NJ eventually becoming an Operating Room Nurse.  When Christine relocated to Savannah, GA she continued working in the Nursing field at St. Joseph’s Hospital and Candler Hospital, both in Savannah, GA.  At the end of her career, she retired and became a Substitute School Nurse in the Chatham County Public Schools.

 

Christine enjoyed long walks and traveling with her husband Dwight, in particular walking along Lake Mayer.  Christine loved singing and baking and you could always find her baking apple pies and peach cobblers, while singing all of the Motown hits.  In her younger years, Christine enjoyed bowling on several leagues and in later years, enjoyed reading her Bible.  She loved and adored her grandchildren and great grandchildren, often dancing with them.

 

Christine is predeceased by her parents, George Washington and Annie B. Colbert, five brothers, one granddaughter (Bethany) and one great grandson (Christopher).

 

Christine is survived by her loving husband, who took loving care of her until the end, Dwight Williams.  Christine is also survived by her three daughters; Felecia (NJ), Angela (SC), Danielle (GA) and her son Darrien (GA); devoted son-in-law Ron (NJ), devoted daughter-in-law Rakeal (Ethiopia).  Christine is also survived by her eleven grandchildren; Samoura (NJ), Douglas (NJ), Michael (NJ), Trenee (GA) Malik (NV), Deja (OH), Velma (GA), Jerrica (SC), Donovan (GA) Jacob and Jabez (Ethiopia), and twelve great grandchildren, with one on the way who will hear wonderful stories about her great grandmother.  Christine also leaves to cherish fond memories, one sister, five brothers and their spouses, many nieces, nephews, cousins and lifelong friends.
