Mrs. Bessie Lee Ferguson, a dedicated educator whose impact on the lives of countless students will be felt for generations to come, passed away on July 19, 2025, in Savannah, Georgia. Born on September 9, 1941, in Hampton, South Carolina, Mrs. Ferguson established a career that spanned over several decades in the field of education, notably serving within the Savannah Chatham County Public School System.

With an unwavering commitment to nurturing young minds, Mrs. Ferguson was revered by both students and colleagues for her passion for teaching and her ability to inspire. Her approach to education was characterized by her deep understanding of her students’ needs, and her innovative teaching methods made learning not only effective but also enjoyable.

Throughout her life, Mrs. Ferguson exemplified the qualities of dedication, compassion, and integrity. A viewing for Mrs. Ferguson will take place on July 25, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Adams Funeral Services, located at 510 Stephenson Avenue, Savannah, GA 31405.

Please be advised that once the service has commenced, no one will be permitted to enter until the ceremony has concluded. We appreciate your understanding and reverence for this sacred tradition. If you do not arrive before the ceremony begins, you may join the family around 5:30 PM once the ceremony is finished.

A burial service will follow on July 26, 2025, at 1:00 PM at Hillcrest Abbey West, situated at 1336 Dean Forest Rd, Garden City, GA 31405.
