Mr. Thomas Allen Jones, SR

Mr. Thomas Allen Jones, Sr., 80, loving husband of Theressa J. Jones of Savannah transitioned on July 3, 2012, at St. Joseph's Hospital. A native of Blitchton, GA, he lived most of his life in Savannah, GA. He retired from Union Camp Corp., and Johnson Lane Securities. A master pool & checkers player, he was a member of the Savannah Checkers Club and competed in national tournaments. He is preceded in death by his parents, Benjamin Jones, Sr. and Marie G. Jones, 2 children, Juliette J. Wilder and Robert A. Jones. In addition to his wife, he is survived by 3 children, Thomas A. Jones, Jr., Janet J. Lee (Noel) of Stone Mountain, GA and Ruby J. Cummings (John, Sr.), 3 sisters, Alberta Mikel (Edward) of Norwalk, CT, Marjorie Williams of Bluffton, SC, Lue Ethel Hodges of Durham, NC, 2 sisters-in-laws, Ruth M. Benton of Oak Park, MI and Mary Jones of Bridgeport, CT, 9 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, 1 great great-grandchild, numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Viewing is 12:00pm - 6:00pm Sunday, July 8, 2012 at Adams Funeral Home.

Home going services will be held on Monday, July 9, 2012 at 12:00pm at First African Baptist Church. Interment at Hillcrest Abbey West. Remembrances to: First African Baptist Church, Restoring Lives, 23 Montgomery Street, Savannah, GA 31401.
