Mr. Italo Spiridigliozzi Visco, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away on July 30, 2025, in Savannah, GA, after battling complications from early-onset Alzheimer's Disease. He was born on July 20, 1956, in San Donato, Italy, and lived a life marked by intellectual curiosity, compassion for others, and an unwavering dedication to those he loved.
Italo studied at Massachusetts Institute of Technology, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Architecture. This was followed by a Master's Degree in Architecture from Harvard’s Graduate School of Design. After working as an architect, he eagerly embraced the role of stay-at-home dad, confirming his deep commitment to family. He later earned an MBA from Babson, paving the way for a successful career in real estate development.
Those who had the privilege of knowing Italo remember a man of great kindness and intellect, a true gentleman at heart. His love for family and community was evident in every aspect of his life. Italo dedicated his time to coaching his children’s soccer and hockey teams, sharing his passion for sports and teaching valuable life lessons along the way. He served as Chairman of the Historic Commission in Auburndale, MA, where he worked tirelessly to preserve the community's heritage and history.
Steadfast, loyal, and dependable, Italo enhanced the lives of many with his generosity and compassion. His interests enriched his spirit: playing hockey, cooking delicious Italian meals, creating art in numerous ways, the strategic challenge of chess and cribbage, and especially listening to music. He was always eager to learn new things and preferred reading non-fiction books and National Geographic magazines so he could expand his knowledge of and love for science, nature, and the world around him. His children have embraced these passions in their chosen hobbies and careers; living proof of Italo’s impact.
Italo leaves behind his wife, Lisa Gray Visco; children, Gray, Zach, and Emily Visco; daughters-in-law, Mary Ripple and Talya Visco; and grandchildren, James, Audrey, and Bennett Visco. Italo is also survived by his siblings: Marisa Mullen, Franca Cugini, Linda MacIntyre, and Lou Spiridigliozzi, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Italo was preceded in death by his parents, Donato and Donata Spiridigliozzi.
As we reflect on the life of Mr. Italo Spiridigliozzi Visco, we remember a man whose laughter, love, and commitment have left an indelible mark on all who knew him. His legacy will continue through the family he cherished and the many lives he touched.
