Mr. Anthony Tyrone Floyd was called home to be with the Lord on Sunday, June 11, 2023, at the age of 55 years. He was born in Savannah, GA on March 18, 1968, to Kirk D. Floyd, Sr. and Fredrica (Dixon) Floyd.
Anthony moved to Saginaw, Michigan at the age of 5 years, and he was educated through the Buena Vista School District graduating from Buena Vista High School in 1986.
After high school, he enlisted in the United States Army, where he served over 20 years and retired in September 2007. During his time of service, he received numerous awards and honors (Army Commendation Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Global War on terrorism Expeditionary Medal, Armed Forces Reserve Medal, Army Service Ribbon, Driver and Mechanic Badge). He served in the Gulf War and Operation Iraqi Freedom. Anthony was a member of Prince Hall Grand Lodge Pride of Killeen #620.
Anthony accepted Christ at an early age, he was baptized at Mt. Moriah Missionary Baptist Church in Saginaw Michigan in April 1977. Anthony married his love, Tracey Garrett on August 17, 2013 in Saginaw, MI. He was affectionately known as “Cuda”. He was a loving husband, son, stepfather, brother, uncle, and friend. Anthony was an avid sports fan, enjoying basketball and football. His favorite college team was University of Michigan (GO BLUE) and Professional team was the Dallas Cowboys. Anthony’s favorite past times was watching Sanford & Son and Andy Griffin.
His memory will be cherished by his wife, Tracey (Garrett) Floyd; his five stepchildren, Courtney Garrett, Aniyah Garrett, Omarion Moore, all of Saginaw MI, Yahshem Hicks and Payton Gentry, both of North Carolina; grandchildren, Jayden Smith, Brycen Ray, Payton and Princeton Canty, Autumn and Avery Rowe and D’Nyla Jones, all of Saginaw MI; stepmother, Christine Floyd of Savannah, GA; sisters, Shanaka Jackson and Victoria Jenkins, both of Savannah, GA; brothers, Norman (Silva) Floyd of Virginia Beach, VA, Kirk Floyd of Saginaw, MI and Michael Floyd of Savannah, GA; special nieces and nephew, JaVonda Floyd of Detroit, MI, Libress Jackson of Savannah, GA and Darrell Thompson of Saginaw, MI; and a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends; aunts, Elizabeth Leach, Dorothy Pitts, Sandra (Benjamin) Wright and Victoria Grant, all of Savannah, GA; uncles, Fredrick (Marie) Dixon Jr., Charles (Patricia) Dixon and James Dixon, all of Savannah, GA; mother-in-law, Jearlean Garrett of Saginaw, MI; sister-in-law, Cassandra (Dramond) Hicks of Saginaw, MI; special friends, Reggie Diggs, Myron Foster, Darrell Beamon, all of Saginaw, MI; military brothers from 705th Transportation Company, Staff Sergeant Darrell Berry, Staff Sergeant Ozzie Smith, Sergeant First Class Kevin James, Sergeant First Class Clarence Washington and Sergeant First Class Raymond George
Anthony was preceded in death by his father, Kirk Floyd Sr.; mother, Fredrica (Dixon) Floyd; uncle, McArthur Dixon; god-parents, Willie and Mary Jackson; grandparents, Clarence and Marion Floyd, Fredrick and Edna Dixon and special military brother, Sergeant Anthony Fordham.

Funeral service will take place at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, June 21, 2023 at Evans & Browne's Funeral Home, 441 N. Jefferson Ave., Saginaw, MI 48607. Interment in St. Bonaventure Cemetery, Savannah, GA. Friends may call at Evans & Browne's Funeral Home, 441 N. Jefferson Ave., Saginaw, MI 48607 on Tuesday, from 2:00 until 6:00 p.m.
Graveside services will be held on 11:00 AM, Saturday, June 24, 2023 at Greenwich Cemetery in Savannah, GA.
