Ivey Mae Smith

December 1, 1925 — August 2, 2008

Mrs. Ivey Mae Mikell Smith, 82, entered into her eternal transition through Heaven's gates on August 2, 2008 at Candler General Hospital in Savannah, after a short illness. A native of Ellabell, GA, she attended the Public Schools of Bryan County and retired from the Chatham Floral Nursery as a Florist. She joined the Beautiful Zion Missionary Baptist Church of Pembroke, GA at a very young age.
After marriage she joined the Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church of Ellabell, GA. After moving to Savannah, GA, Mrs. Smith joined the Believers in the Word Full Gospel Ministry. She enjoyed working with flowers, listening to gospel music, and making arts and crafts. She loved to laugh, joke and have fun with people and enjoyed her family being around her. She was mother and grandmother to all.

She leaves to cherish her loving memories ten children: James Franklin Smith, Floyd Smith, Clarence(Margaret)Smith, all of Claxton, GA, Randolph(Gloria)Smith, Ramer Lee(Deborah)Smith, all of Savannah, GA, John Wesley(Virginia)Smith of Kinston, NC, Samuel A.(Sandra)Smith of Pooler, GA, Violet Mae Smith of Savannah, GA, Doreatha(James)Smith-Moore of Ellabell, GA, and Elizabeth Smith of Pembroke, GA; one stepdaughter, Genella(Joe)Jenkins of Ellabell, GA; one sister, Geralding Green of Savannah, GA; one brother, Jesse(Elise)Mikell of Savannah, GA; daughter-in-law, Martha Beniman; one brother-in-law
Henry Lee(Mary) Smith of Chicago, Ill; sister-in-laws, Willie Pearl Mikell of Walthourville, GA, Susie
Mae Brown of Ellabell, GA Maggie Mikell, and Jeannie Washington of Savannah, GA; thirty-eight grands; thirty-eight great-grands; one great-great-grand; a host pf nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Funeral service: 1:00pm Saturday, August 9, 2008 at Adams Funeral Services, Inc Chapel, 510 Stephenson Avenue, Savannah, GA 31405. Public viewing: Friday, August 8, 2008 from 12:00noon-8:00pm at the funeral home. Interment: Woodville Cemetery in Savannah, GA.
