Eric
Lambright
Feb 10, 1978 — Aug 21, 2026
Savannah, GA
Adams announces the passing of Mr. Eric Lambright, 48, who passed away unexpectedly on Friday, August 21, 2026 in Savannah, GA after a prolonged illness and period in which his health appeared to be improving. His loss came far too soon for those who knew and loved him.
Eric will be remembered for his incredibly quick wit, his wonderful sense of humor, and his ability to find something to laugh about in nearly any situation. He could make difficult moments lighter and good moments even better, usually with a perfectly timed joke.
Hospitality was more than Eric's profession; it was his passion. He has a natural gift for making people feel welcome and cared for, and he built genuine connections with guests and colleagues alike. At Darling Oyster Bar, he found a team that meant the world to him and community that became an important part of his life.
Eric was an avid sports fan, with a particular devotion to Georgia football, and had a wonderfully eclectic taste in music. Getting ready meant turning the music up loud, and whatever came through the speakers could be an unpredictable combination of songs and genres. Shortly before his passing, Erics had also, much his satisfaction, finally finished watching The Bear.
Eric could talk to anyone. On trips, it wasn't unusual for him to leave having befriended the bartender and everyone sitting nearby. He wasn't interested in being the center of attention, he simply had a way of captivating people around him, while giving them that same attention in return. He was curious about people, listened to their stories, and made connections wherever he went.
Above all, Eric adored his wife, Demetra, and their two cats, Franklin and Fiona, who were very much their family.
Eric is survived by his wife, Demetra; his sister, Audrey; his father, Dennis; his stepmother Cynthia; his beloved cats Franklin and Fiona; and many dear friends. He was preceded in death by his mother, Brenda, who passed away in March of this year.
Eric's life was filled with conversation, laughter, loud music, and the people he collected along the way. The many people who had the pleasure of sharing a barstool, a meal, a shift, a Georgia game, a trip, or simply a good conversation with him will carry those memories forward. The world will be noticeably quieter without him.
A celebration of Eric's life will be held Thursday, August 27, 2026, from 6:00PM to 9:00PM at Darling Oyster Bar in Savannah, a place and community that meant so much to him. Friends, family, and those whose lives Eric touched are welcome to join us in remembering him.
In lieu of flowers, those wishing to honor Eric's memory are encouraged to make a donation to the American Liver Foundation.
