Elsie Rebecca Graves, age 82, passed away peacefully on May 22, 2026, in Savannah, Georgia. Born on June 27, 1943, in Tuscumbia Alabama to Emmit and Vera Beavers. Elsie lived a life marked by love, kindness, and dedication to family and friends. Elsie accepted Christ and joined Mt. Carmel Missionary Baptist Church in Tuscumbia, Alabama. Elsie was educated in the Colbert County Public Schools. In 1961, Elsie graduated from Trenholm High School in Tuscumbia, Alabama.

Elsie was a devoted mother and friend who found joy in her faith and service to others in need. Elsie worked many years at the Hunter Army Airfield Exchange as a Customer Service Manager where she retired in 2010.

Elsie is survived by her grandson, Marcus Noah Graves, a daughter-in-law, Renita Graves, nephews Arthur Gaines and Chris Gaines, cousins Cherita Pugh and Vann Donley, and longtime friends Linda Hollingsworth and Charles Moore. Elsie was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Graves and her son Marcus Graves, and parents Emmit Beavers and Vera Beavers.

Those who knew Elsie will remember her for compassion for helping others and her love for God, and loyalty to her family and friends. Elsie’s legacy of love and compassion will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.

Forever loved, deeply missed, and never forgotten.

A viewing will take place at Adams Funeral Services, located at 510 Stephenson Avenue, Savannah, GA 31405, on Saturday, June 13, 2026, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM.

Her funeral service will be held on Monday, June 15, 2026, beginning at 11:00 AM at Tremont Temple Missionary Baptist Church, 1110 Martin Luther King Jr Blvd, Savannah, GA 31415.

Following the service, burial will be at Beaufort National Cemetery, 1601 Boundary St, Beaufort, SC 29902, beginning at 2:00 PM on the same day.
