Obituary

Earl Sam Seabrooks Jr., 80, of Savannah, Georgia, peacefully entered eternal rest on January 27, 2026.

Earl was born on February 23, 1945, in Pooler, Georgia, to the late Earl Sam Seabrooks Sr. and Annie B. Barker Seabrooks. From an early age, Earl accepted Christ as his personal Savior and was baptized at South Valley Missionary Baptist Church. His faith guided his life, and he later served the Lord faithfully as a Deacon, living out his beliefs through service, integrity, and strength.

Earl graduated from high school early at the age of 17. Answering the call to serve his country, and with the consent of his parents, he enlisted in the United States military. During his service, Earl proudly served in the Vietnam War as a Radio TT Operator. After three years of honorable service, he was honorably discharged, having faithfully done his duty.

Following his military service, Earl began a distinguished career in aerospace, working with Grumman/Gulfstream Aerospace. Encouraged and supported by his loving wife, he later stepped out on faith and began a career with the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). Earl was a diligent and disciplined worker who believed in preparation and growth. He traveled often, took classes consistently, and pursued every opportunity to advance. By the time of his retirement, Earl had reached the highest level of his profession, completing his career with excellence and integrity.

Earl’s career required frequent relocation, and for nearly a decade he and his family willingly moved as he accepted promotions and opportunities for advancement. Through every transition, Earl remained committed to providing for his family. In God’s perfect timing, he returned home to Savannah, Georgia, where he retired and enjoyed a well-earned season of rest and reflection.

Outside of work, Earl found joy in life’s simple pleasures. He loved tinkering with his vintage truck, spending peaceful days fishing, and was an accomplished bowler, proudly owning four bowling balls like any seasoned pro. He enjoyed watching movies and was well known for offering wisdom and advice, (sometimes requested, sometimes freely given) always from a place of love. Above all, Earl was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather who worked tirelessly to provide for his family and leave a legacy of faith, perseverance, and love.

Earl leaves to cherish his precious memories his loving and devoted wife, Betty Jean Tarver Seabrooks; daughter, Tiffony Seabrooks Simpson; son, E. Brown; granddaughter, Ciara Brown; nephew, Rev. Kenneth M. Bussey; and a host of cousins, extended family members, and dear friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Earl Sam Seabrooks Sr.; his mother, Annie B. Barker Seabrooks; his sister, Mary Elizabeth Seabrooks Taylor; and his brother, Bobby Seabrooks.
