Daniel Russell Manning, age 44, of Savannah, Georgia, passed away in his sleep on July 27, 2026. Born in Savannah on October 11, 1981, he was a lifelong resident of Georgia. A graduate of Georgia Southern University, Daniel spent his career serving patients at Memorial University Medical Center, where he was known for his kindness and compassion. He was honored with the Daisy Award in recognition of the exceptional care he provided to patients and their families.

Daniel was an unabashed nerd who loved video games, overly complex board games, RPGs, comics, movies, and television. He delighted in sharing his passions with family and friends. He loved a good pun—and plenty of bad ones, too—and was a master of the classic dad joke. He was also a mean cook who loved trying adventurous and interesting recipes.

Never one to seek the spotlight, Daniel instead expressed himself through quiet acts of compassion and kindness that left an indelible mark on his family, friends, and the patients whose lives he touched. An independent thinker with a firm moral compass, he was steadfast in his dedication to doing what was right and just. Friends and family could always count on Daniel to lend a listening ear and, when asked, sage wisdom. He accepted people for who they were without judgment and had a gift for making everyone feel welcome.

Daniel is dearly missed for his self-effacing humor, dedication to service, unwavering kindness, and so much more.

Daniel R. Manning is survived by his parents, Lesley L. Manning and Harry R. Manning; brother Seth I. Manning and sister-in-law, Kelly E. Manning; sister Zoë L. R. Manning; nieces Aela and Evelyn Manning; and nephew Benjamin Manning.

A memorial service honoring Daniel’s life will be held on Saturday, August 1, 2026, at 4:00 p.m. at Adams Funeral Services, located at 510 Stephenson Avenue in Savannah, Georgia. Friends and family are invited to gather in remembrance and celebration of Daniel’s legacy.

Daniel R. Manning’s memory will endure in the love and stories shared by his family and friends. Though he is no longer with us, his spirit continues to inspire those fortunate enough to have known him.
