In Loving Memory of Alvin Hamilton
Alvin Hamilton, better known as “Iya” or “Ham”, a beloved family member, friend, and member of his community, passed away peacefully on August 15, 2026, at Pruitt Health- Short Term Rehabilitation Center. He was a longtime resident of Savannah, Georgia.
Alvin was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. Benjamin “Buster” and Eloise Gaynor Hamilton, his sister Ms. Carrie Bell Hamilton, His niece Joyce Ann Hamilton and nephew Kirk Hamilton. He leaves to cherish his memory to his sister, Velma “Tit” Hamilton, brother, Randy Hamilton, nephew, Benjamin “Bennie”(Catherine) Hamilton, and niece, Monique Hamilton, along with his extended family and many dear friends.
Alvin dedicated 30 years of faithful service to Candler/St. Joseph before retiring in 2015. He was a devoted member of St. John Baptist Church and a beloved member of the PARC Golden Age Center, where he enjoyed the fellowship and companionship of others.
Alvin was a natural comedian who had a special gift for bringing joy and laughter wherever he went. One of his favorite phrases was, “Don’t worry me!” Whenever Alvin walked into a room, you could be sure that laughter would soon fill the air. His humor, warm spirit, and unforgettable personality brought smiles to countless people.
Above all, Alvin loved his family dearly. He was a faithful and loyal friend who touched the lives of everyone fortunate enough to know him. His laughter, kindness, and joyful spirit will remain in the hearts of those who loved him.
Alvin will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever cherished by his family, friends, church family, and everyone whose life he touched.
Rest peacefully, Iya. Your laughter will live on in our hearts.
