Miss Vanessa Hall

September 4, 1956 ~ May 29, 2018 (age 61)

Adams announces the passing of Miss Vanessa Hall , 61, who transitioned on Tuesday, May 29, 2018 at her residence.


Vanessa Hall, was born September 4, 1956 to Elder James and Mrs. Willie Mae Hall in Savannah, GA. She was the second out of seven children. As a child, Ms. Hall received her formal education in the Chatham County Public Schools System, attending Moses Jackson elementary, Scott Jr. High and graduating from Sol. C. Johnson High School.
 
  Ms. Hall was a lifelong and active member of the United House of Prayer by serving as a candy striper, young adult usher, tall flag section of the marching band, singing on the young people’s choir, the Apostolic Youth Choir and the McCollough Majestics. She   managed the day kitchen in Savannah Motherhouse to most recently working with the Queen board in Brooklyn #1.
 
  In her professional life, Ms. Hall was a cook and a licensed cosmetologist. She has worked in several salons as well as a cook for Chatham County Public Schools. Ms. Hall loved to travel which lend her the ability to relocate to various cities such as Charlotte NC, Washington DC., Atlanta GA, Rock Hill SC, and finally settling in New York City.
On May 25, 2018, determined to attend the Memorial Day   Celebration in honor of Sweet Daddy Grace, Sweet Daddy McCollough and Sweet Daddy Madison she arrived into   Washington D.C. Though her footsteps were a little slow and her body was under the weather she pressed her way.  She attended the Saturday Night Service and as she left the service for the evening she stated “I am satisfied, I did what I came to do.  I saw Daddy Bailey, the parade and the display.  I am satisfied.”
 
She entered eternal peace on May 29, 2018 at her home in Manhattan New York.
 
She was preceded in death by her brother Antony Hall, and brother in law Elder Melvin Hough.
 
She leaves to cherish memories her parents Elder James L. and Sis Willie Mae Hall of Savannah GA, 2 sons and a daughter in law; Dwayne (Whimpy) Sr. and Janel Hall of Cary, NC and  Larry Sizer of Atlanta, GA, 3 sisters; Linda Hough of Cincinnati, OH, Debora Gaskins of Washington, DC and Beverly Hall of Savannah, GA, 2 brothers; James L. Hall Jr. of Bronx, NY and Julius Hall of Savannah, GA, 2 aunts; Angela Brown and Ada Mac of Savannah, GA, 1 uncle; Roosevelt Brown of Savannah, GA, 5 grandchildren; Naporsha Simone Tillman of Savannah, GA, Dwayne Hall Jr. of Norfolk, VA, R’iyanna Osgood of Portsmouth, VA, Demond Hall and Doron Hall of Cary, NC, 1 adopted daughter;Sharmain Smith of Manhattan, New York,  2 great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends.

 

Adams announces the Funeral Services for Miss Vanessa Hall, 11:00 A.M., Saturday, June 9, 2018 at the United House of Prayer For All People, 1805 Ogeechee Road

Interment: Greenwich Cemetery.
